Lafayette Academy              Truancy Program   (Lafayette Campus) 9th-12th grades
 
     The Illinois Truants’ Alternative and Optional Educational Program is an Illinois State Board of Education grant-funded project administered by the Regional Office of Edcation #46 for students predominantly in Morgan County. The TAOEP program is designed to offer modified instruction or other services designed to prevent students from dropping out of school. The Lafayette Academy serves dropouts up to the age of 21 and potential dropouts, including truants, uninvolved, unmotivated, and disaffected students.

A.R.C.              Regional Safe School (Jefferson Campus) 9th-12th grades
     The A.R.C. is a Regional Safe School Program (RSSP) and serves expulsion-eligible or expelled (and then re-admitted for administrative transfer to RSSP) and suspension-eligible or suspended students in grades 6-12. Both a Jr. High School and a High School exist for these students. The ARC serves, on site at the Jefferson Community Center, four counties within the Regional Office’s jurisdiction. The statewide RSSP program began serving Illinois students in 1997 and is based upon PA 89-383 which provided for a system of alternative education programs for disruptive students.
